Glaucoma/ Kala Motiya:-
Glaucoma or “Kala Motiya” is the thief of sight. We at the centre screen all visiting patients for glaucoma free of cost by tonometry and disk evaluation. This has a huge impact on diagnosis of glaucoma as most people suffering from early stages and often even in advanced loss stages are unaware of this eye disease as it does not affect vision in its early stages. Only when there is extensive damage caused by glaucoma, the patient suffers from restriction of fields as well as irreversible vision loss.

All those who are above 40 years of age and specially those with family history of glaucoma, unexplained blindness, diabetes and hypertension should have a screening for glaucoma. With the current advancements in the field of glaucoma like diagnostic tools like perimetry, Disk OCT, RNFL.

Analyzer, excellent medications and evolved surgical techniques glaucoma can now be treated to maintain vision for life. But yet ‘it cannot be cured or reversed’. So timely screening, diagnosis and treatment can avoid blindness related to glaucoma.
The Centre is equipped with the traditional as well as most advanced technology for screening, diagnosis and management for Glaucoma. Dr. Sandeep Mithal, a reputed name in the field of glaucoma has been treating glaucoma for 35 years with excellent outcomes. Dr. Neha Mithal, who has added to the glaucoma facilities with her experiences from training in the field at R.P. Centre, AIIMS. She is practicing recent advancements in Glaucoma.
